When to call
Recognize the condition.
- One side of the door is higher than the other
- A roller is outside the track
- A section is hanging at an unusual angle
- A track is bent or a cable is slack
Stop and secure the area
Do not run the opener again, pull a raised door's release or try to push rollers into place. Keep children, pets and vehicles clear. A door may be supported unevenly even when it appears stationary, and moving it can change which component is carrying its weight.
Tell the service team whether the door is open, closed or partway up, which side is affected and whether a cable looks loose. Take a photo only from a safe position. Do not stand under the opening or use a ladder to examine loaded hardware.
The roller is not the whole diagnosis
An inspection should determine why the door left its normal path. Tracks, rollers, hinges, panels, cables, drums and the spring system may all be involved. Vehicle contact or another obstruction can cause damage, but a visible symptom alone does not establish the cause.
Ask whether track attachments, roller stems, hinges and section reinforcement have been damaged. Restoring one roller does not prove that the door will remain square or that the cable system is correctly supported. The repair should address the cause and any resulting damage together.
Repair only when the system can operate safely
A repair may involve compatible hardware, track work or cable-system service. The correct scope depends on measurements and structural condition. If sections are creased or attachment points are compromised, discuss panel or door replacement rather than assuming straightening the track is enough.
Request a written description of the repair and the checks to follow. Normal travel, balance and model-specific opener safety operation should be evaluated before the door returns to daily use. Confirm any warranty and limitations that apply to the work.

Off-track repair: common questions
Can I put the roller back myself?
Do not move a crooked or unsupported door or loaded hardware. A technician needs to establish the cause and secure the system.
Does off-track damage always require a new door?
No. Repairability depends on the tracks, hardware and structural condition of the sections. Ask for the reason behind each option.
What if the door is stuck open?
Keep clear and tell Bolt that the opening is unsecured. Confirm the available service window; do not try to force it closed.
